So I’m trying to figure out the top 10 songs I’d vote for HOTTEST 100 OF ALL TIME. For TripleJ ofc.

It’s hard to be properly objective at all when it’s all about nostalgia and personal memories. And when blogging etc it also becomes about your public image and what you want others to think about you. (”I’m so interesting, check out my taste in X!”…. But in all seriousness, check out my awesome list. Yeah!)

Anyway so far it’s something along the lines of (in no order):

The Boxer (or A Hazy Shade of Winter) – Simon and Garfunkel

How Soon is Now? – The Smiths

Common People – Pulp

Boys Don’t Cry – The Cure

High and Dry (or Fake Plastic Trees) – Radiohead

Imagine – John Lennon

Voodoo People (strange outlier that won’t seem to fall off this list for some reason) – The Prodigy

Our House – Madness

Coffee and TV – Blur

Bittersweet Symphony – The Verve

It’s interesting how one is compelled to include exactly 1 song from a band. If I can’t choose between High and Dry and Fake Plastic Trees is it likely one is in the top 10 and one is not? More likely they’re both nearby to each other and chances are I could have them both in my top 10, but that would seem wrong when real estate there is so scarce. It’s also interesting how bands I wish were in there and like more than bands that are just don’t have any mad stand out song that can stand it’s ground in so small a list. (Oasis, Flaming Lips…)

So I had an idea while waxing with Simon and others at the letsmakegames gamejam event tonight and came up with an awesome idea.

An evil Twitter ‘darknet’.

Everyone makes a new clone user called evilusername, I would be evilbeetlefeet. Then you only follow other evil people. Ideally anyone who crosses the evil / non-evil boundary by following the wrong type of person would be shunned by both sides. Tsk tsk.

This network of evil people would then be separated from ‘regular’ users and have their own evil status updates and remarks about their evil doings and goings on. When you tweet your normal tweets you should also tweet an evil version.

For example:
beetlefeet: “Just had an awesome cherry pie!”
evilbeetlefeet: “Just had an awesome cherry pie, it reminded me of spilling innocents’ blood!”

You know it makes sense!
